Replacement Silver Cabinet

Hi

Earlier this year one of our silver cabinets was broken into and damaged beyond repair. We are looking to replace it, but it’s so long since the original cabinets we have were sourced, we don’t have details of the suppliers. We have scoured cabinets for labels, but to no avail. We have them at 4 Town Halls and they are all different, so there’s no need for us to match to anything current - there is only one cabinet and the location of the break-in.

I am approaching our Museums Service, but wondered whether anyone has any leads on companies (preferably in the North of England) who can supply these - had anyone had to source one in the last little while?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a suggestion - I wonder if you could get a cabinet purpose built to fit the space you have available. Maybe there is someone learning woodwork at your local college who would like to take it on as a project which would be good publicity both for him and your Civic Head.
